Has anyone used the outdoor "G" model for bicycle mobile. How mounted, antenna used, etc. I bicycle by myself deep into the mountains of our National Forest and have no cell or repeater communication.

Thanks for any info you care to share, Bob. N7DOC

Thanks for the reply. I am hoping to attach the antenna to the rack over the rear wheel and utilize a motorcycle battery mounted to a rack over the front wheel to eliminate weight. My usual ride into the national forest and return home is about 100km with many hills. Therefore weight is very important.

its possible, there was a old guy who owned a radio shop that did it with a mk2g an codan antenna system, practicly a whip with a screw driver tuner that one would normally see on a 4x4. but bike trailer would prolly be a better option for weight as ballance up front would be affected mounting larger batterys. hopefully something with a range of gears or battery life if talking lots would be an issue
