Well, you're lucky. I turn the noise blanker on (1,2 or 3) and it squeals obnoxiously. This is the second X108G and both did that.

I've had luck with leaving the radio hooked to power, and turned on for at least 24 hours. The cell seemed to charge enough to keep the clock working and hold the last entered frequency.
