x-108
-------

  • Akkupack vorhanden - nice to have - macht das mehr Spass.

x-108
-------
  • small, handy and 20Watt Output (already better than 5Watt for SSB)
  • (Compared to the 817 - is> the 817 I feel as a handy and robust and a battery is also in it)
  • Big display - small signs because a lot of it information easy to handle (buttons and their function assignment) - So few frills
  • Modulation well - so the feedback to 10m in USA
  • For me, the 20Watt were decisive and buying decision
  • Power supply: thin wires and the plug is quite small - a backup does not exist
  • I have the preamp switch to receive the signal from the other party well and get a halfway useful indicator of the S-level s. S-meter
  • Power consumption, I have not measured

FT-817
-------
  • Power subjectively a more robust impression - a little less of the Habtik ago
  • Battery Pack available - nice to have - with makes it more fun
  • Turn the knob - so both knobs for radio spectrum I find more practical and faster to access (cranks) to a certain frequency
  • 2m / 70cm doing (has the x108 not)
  • The Yaesu menu is a little getting used to - I think it's from x-108 logically constructed
  • 5Watt and wars (without modification)
  • There are special ATU and PA - specifically for the 817

I mean both devices (price / performance) are justified. 20 watts on one side and a black Aluchassi / 5 watts and a more robust device and a bit handier with optional accessories ;-)
